Charles D. Thomas, LPC

Charles is a Limited Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Counselor and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  Charles completed his graduate degree in 1995 and has been a Limited Licensed Psychologist in the state of Michigan for over 25 years.  

During his career, Charles has provided psychotherapy for children, adults, and families in a variety of environments including college, clinic and hospital settings.  He has also worked as a mental health program administrator.  Charles specializes in working with men, couples, and people struggling with grief or trauma.  He has speciality training in EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

In his clinical work, Charles has been greatly influenced by the client centered therapy of Carl Rogers, the insights and no nonsense approach of cognitive therapist Albert Ellis as well as the existential therapist, Irvin Yalom. As an eclectic therapist, Charles draws from the work of these seminal figures in psychotherapy as well as others to craft a unique approach that fits each of his clients.
